After postponing the event due to COVID-19 concerns, jam foursome Dopapod descended upon Pennsylvania’s Ardmore Music Hall on March 19 and 20 for a pair of free, crowdless ‘We’re Gonna Get Through This’ livestreams.
After a jam-heavy night one – with just five songs in set one, and six in set two – the band kicked their March 20 show into high gear, with a brand new original in set one, dubbed “Yeah Fro’s Folks” after drummer Neal “Fro” Evans.
The new tune bled into “Cloud World,” which contained a nod to dearly-departed Daft Punk with teases of Random Access Memories cut “Within” as well as Dopapod’s own “Bats in the Cave,” which they played the evening prior.
Other March 20 highlights include a set-two tease of Radiohead’s “National Anthem” within “French Bowing” as well as cover of The Beatles’ “Norwegian Wood.”
After the run Dopapod wrote, “Thank you for all the love, it felt amazing to be a band again and all the kind words and donations mean the world to us.”
“I have no words to describe how it felt to play with my Dopapod buds the past week,” guitarist Rob Compa added via Instagram. “It was just plain magical for us.”
