Goose will not host their annual Viva El Gonzo event next year. The Connecticut-bred act first produced the Mexican destination event in 2025, featuring The War on Dugs, Tycho, Dawes, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Eggy and several others, and brought the multi-band bill back earlier this year with My Morning Jacket, Cory Wong, the Disco Biscuits, Jim James and several others.
In a statement the band explained,
We’ve made the call to take 2027 off from Viva El Gonzo and focus our energy on other things for the time being.
Everything about the last two years there has felt incredibly special to us, and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who took the ride. We know it takes a lot to make it to an event like that, and we’re deeply grateful for everyone who sent it to San José del Cabo to be there with us.
A huge thank you to 100x for believing in this thing and helping us build it from the ground up, and to Hotel El Ganzo and the entire San José del Cabo community for welcoming us in and helping to bring the vision to life. The memories from those first two years will stay with us forever.
We hope to bring Viva El Gonzo back somewhere down the road…Until then there are many new ideas and projects we’re excited about that we look forward to sharing when the time is right.
Until the next ride,
Rick, Peter, Trevor & Cotter
Goose will serve as the musical guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this evening. They will tape the episode at the Brooklyn Academy of Music while Kimmel is in old hometown filming the program.
