The String Cheese Incident recently performed in Morocco via their special destination event. The group played three two-set shows during their debut appearance on the African continent.
The band also connected with a number of local artists during the Moroccan Incident. On the second night, Morocco’s Meteor Airlines opened the show. This group, which was founded in 2016, blends Amazigh music with modern rock for what it has dubbed “Amazigh Rock.”
On the final night in Marrakech, SCI opened their concluding set with a collaborative performance. Hind Ennaira, an Essaouira, Morocco-based guembri player appeared with Abdeljabar Ait Mamas Toda and Hamadi Oujana on krakeb instruments. They took the stage with String Cheese for two “Gnawan Jams.” The group has just shared the first of these, which appears below.
All three nights of the Moroccan Incident. are available to stream in both video and audio at nugs.net/sci.
