In November 2024 2ŁØT released their debut album Entropy. As we wrote at that time, “The album is presented through the lens of the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, a philosophical belief that everything tends toward chaos. By embracing the incalculable nature of life and injecting it into their musical approach, 2ŁØT uses their full-length release to travel the cosmos, taking the listener on a journey as they move freely after heightened consideration of who they are and what they stand for.”

he Wichita-based quintet has just released a 16-track follow-up that builds on this theme. While Entropy focused on confronting chaos, RE/SOLVE explores what happens when you come out the other side. 2ŁØT characterizes the album as a “Second Hero’s Journey” which explores “the less tidy process of rebuilding after the initial breakthrough, when old identities stop fitting, relationships change, and new questions emerge.”

Vocalist Rudy Love Jr. explains, “The aim is to mythologize the cyclical process of self-reflection, transformation, and self-actualization through a Campbellian archetypal lens. The songs are specifically written and ordered to tell a story that takes the listener on this adventure with us.”

RE/SOLVE features contributions from such guest musicians as Jon Batiste, Robert Randolph, and Eric Krasno, Cameron McCloud of Cure for Paranoia, Elise Trouw, Frank Moka, Mariel Jacoda and The Funky Knuckles.

The range of these artists matches the ethos of 2ŁØT which melds hip hop, funk, soul, jazz, rock, and electronic music into a sound they call Electronic Jam Music (EJM).

Over the past year, 2ŁØT has also worked with Steve Aoki, Paul Oakenfold, Aloe Blacc, Albert Harvey, and Michael Kang of The String Cheese Incident. The group will appear at Garcia’s both before and after SCI’s two nights at the Capitol Theatre on October 30 and 31.
