Jaimoe will perform with Friends of the Brothers a few times in the coming months, beginning with a June 13 show at the Warehouse at FTC in Fairfield, Conn. The drummer, the lone surviving member of the classic Allman Brothers Band lineup, started making semi-regular appearances with the ABB-related act, which features ABB biographer Alan Paul on guitar, following the death of Dickey Betts in 2024. The Connecticut-based drummer has been particularly active after a quiet year recently, sitting in with Tedeschi Trucks Band at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in May for a mini-ABB reunion on May 2 and joining Oteil & Friends at the Sun Patio Stage at Mohegan Sun, Uncasville, CT on May 16.
In addition to Paul, Friends of the Brothers’ current lineup consists of Jaimoe’s longtime guitarist Junior Mack and Dickey Betts guitarist Andy Aledort, as well as drummers Dave Diamond (Zen Tricksters, Robert Randolph) and Lee Finkelstein (Tower of Power, Blues Brothers), bassist Craig Privett (Half Step) and keyboardist Mike Katzman (Leslie Mendelsohn, The Electrix). Jaimoe is expected to join Friends of the Brothers for additional shows in the coming weeks.
