KKCR is a non-commercial, independent community radio station based on the Hawaiian island of Kauaʻi. The station is currently facing a challenging economic environment, as it previously received funding from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which was officially dissolved in January. In an effort to help support the station, a Grateful Dead Marathon will take place this Saturday, May 30, 2026.

This is the second annual event of this nature, which will broadcast live beginning at 9am HST (12pm PT/1pm MT/2pm CT/3pm ET) through midnight in Hawaii. KKCR’s 2nd Annual Grateful Dead Marathon will present archival live shows along with rare and exclusive content from the station’s own crew of DJs, as well as KKCR enthusiast David Gans.

The Grateful Dead Marathon will be livestreamed via the KKCR website, GDRadio and Nugs.net. In addition, everyone who makes a donation on May 30 will be entered into a drawing to win a year-long subscription to nugs.net.

Meanwhile, an auction of Grateful Dead themed apparel and memorabilia is underway.
