Roger Daltrey has announced a solo US tour. After capping off six decades of The Who’s North American touring last year with the “The Song Is Over” North American Farewell Tour, the legendary frontman will lead his independent backing band on a 20-show return to the States from Aug. 23 to Sept. 29. In a quote accompanying the announcement, Daltrey suggested that The Who’s bittersweet farewell to the region inspired his next solo outing across the pond, which could “possibly” be his last.

“Well it’s one more for the road,” Daltrey expressed. “After finishing The Who’s final tour of the US, it’s time for me as a solo artist to possibly do the same. After touring solo with different bands of musicians for the last 17 years, a less grueling life becomes more attractive, I’ll see. With my present line up of nine musicians, I have this opportunity to see your beautiful country and enjoy the hospitality you have shown me over so many years. I’ll be off the backing tracks and always searching for different soundscapes to present the songs. It’s a lot of fun and gives me the chance to have a Great Night Out.”

Daltrey’s first US solo tour since his 2024 Semi-Acoustic Summer outing – which presented him in uncommonly intimate stages and arrangements – will feature support from his tried and true nine-piece backing band of Simon Townshend (guitar), Billy Nicholls (mandolin), Jody Linscott (percussion), Doug Boyle (guitar), John Hogg (bass), Katie Jacoby (violin), Steve Weston (harmonica), Geraint Watkins (keyboards/accordion) and Scott Devours (drums). Like his last Stateside series, the performances will be peppered with anecdotes and reminiscences from his lifetime on the road.

Daltrey will commence his solo tour with a kickoff from Mesa, Ariz.’s Mesa Arts Center, then make a single stop in Highland, Calif. before three nights at Las Vegas’ Encore Theater from Aug. 26-28. He’ll remain in the West for Golden State shows in Santa Barbara, Saratoga and Santa Rosa, then cross through Reno en route to a Sept. 9 engagement at Nashville’s hallowed Ryman Auditorium. After a three-show Midwest series, the rock icon and his band will touch down on the East Coast for one last seven-stop sprint, including shows at Port Chester, N.Y.’s Capitol Theatre, Washington, D.C.’s The Theater at MGM National Harbor, New York’s The Town Hall and finally Medford, Mass.’s Chevalier Theatre on Sept. 29.

Tickets for Daltrey’s solo tour are available now through a presale with code GREATNIGHT. Presales will continue through a general on-sale on Friday, May 15 at 10 a.m. local. Find more information at thewho.com.
