The Last Wild Buffalo have released their second full-length album, Still Here, Somehow, the follow-up to their 2024 self-titled LP and surprise EP Sincerely, which introduced the four-piece’s folk tendencies, nailed to Americana floorboards, and finished with a thick layer of emotional honesty and singular grit. The new record comprises 15 tracks, fixed to hushed harmonies that counter big builds and collectively propel a sonic agenda that totes undeniable intimacy and anthemic qualities of togetherness.
Still Here, Somehow, was written across the state of Utah, while the ensemble – Jonathan Celaya (banjo, vocals), Isaac Woodruff (acoustic guitar, vocals), Ella Celaya (fiddle, vocals), and Troy Lybbert (upright bass, backing vocals) – was on the road in support of their debut album. The new arrival prompts contemplation of home, transformation, and the place that exists as they come out of their first chapter and step into their follow-up.
The Beehive State Band was bred during backyard jams and fully realized as the group stepped beyond the confines of the fences and hit the road. Their tenacity to tour and perform live has transformed crowds into a community, seeking references to the place and people that inform experience and take away.
Since their arrival on the scene in 2024, The Last Wild Buffalo has cultivated a devoted following for their exceptional ability to amplify an unprocessed approach to playing and crafting lyrics, and the continued effect of their promise to deliver authentic, unbridled listening experiences.
Still Here, Somehow was a self-funded endeavor, produced internally by Celaya, as a reflection of the band’s hands-on and autonomous approach to making records. The new collection was mastered by David Glasser (Airshow Mastering).
