Today, a celebration of Sinéad O’Connor and Shane MacGowan was announced and is set to take place on St. Patrick’s Day, March 20, 2024, at Carnegie Hall. The event, presented by City Winery, is set to honor both the Pogues frontman and Irish singer, songwriter, and activist’s lives and heritage.

The event, billed as Sinéad & Shane, will welcome a melange of talent over the course of the evening, including David Gray, Cat Power, Clen Hansard, Amanda Palmer, Dropkick Murphys, Eugene Hütz, The Mountain Goats, Bettye Lavette, Sunflower Bean’s Julia Cumming, Kat Edmonson and The Resistance Revival Chorus. Additional artists are expected to be announced in the months ahead of the show and the lineup is subject to change.

Notably, 100 percent of the net profits from the event will go to Pen America,  a nonprofit organization whose goal is to raise awareness for the protection of free expression in the United States and worldwide through the advancement of literature and human rights.
