Following Rushadicus’ abstract and entertaining opening set (which including playing from the rafters in Brighton Music Hall), The Residents returned to Boston with their much anticipated Eskimo Live! Tour.  Decked out like abominable snowmen, the musicians reproduced their critically acclaimed 1979 album Eskimo for the first time in almost 50 years.

The set opened with a saxophone tribute to N. Senada, whose Arctic expedition back in 1972, inspired the creation of Eskimo. The musicians then appeared from the dark and took their places behind TV monitors and electronic musical instruments as they moved through each section of the album. Once finished, the band retreated for a costume change and returned to finish the evening with a selection of tracks, including “Diskomo,” “Hello Skinny,” “Sinister Exaggerator,” and “Smelly Tongues” before closing the night with “Constantinople.”
