This weekend, Grammy award-winning musician Jack Antonoff will open up about his relationship with Taylor Swift and the viral video of the two writing “Getaway Car.” The back and forth will take place during Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist. In a clip previewing the broadcasted conversation, due on October 15, Antonoff opened up about his collaborative connection with the songstress.
“I could quantify our relationship in very reductive ways about the things we agree on, the sounds we like. But the truth is, we’ve just grown together. She put an amazing amount of belief in me. And it’s powerful,” revealed Antonoff, sharing background about his intimate friendship in the studio, which resulted in their initial project, 1989, which he produced.
Antonoff continued, sharing remarks on the viral moment, which spun from a video featuring the pairing writing “Getaway Car,” he added, “That video is popular for the perfect reason, which is that is the only time in my life, the million hours I spent in studios, that a camera was ever on…when magic actually happened.”
Previously, Antonoff had praised Swift in a Billboard interview, adding, “When I work with Taylor, there’s still just this person who has these live experiences and his remarkable gift about writing about them.” The musician then added his thoughts on their collaborative effort, “Anti-Hero,” which functioned as the lead single off Swift’s 10th studio effort, Midnights.
Apart from the forthcoming interview, which will air on Sunday morning, Antonoff has been busy. Back in August, the artist teamed up with Lana Del Rey during the Newport Folk Festival, and most recently, he released “Modern Girl,” a fresh track with his Bleachers project.
