Southern California’s own FIDLAR, known for their distinctive blend of surf punk, thrashing breakdowns and ska-inspired sounds, just dropped a new track titled “Move On.” The song is featured on the official soundtrack of EA Sports’ NHL 24 video game.

“Move On” “is a song about a break up,” said frontman Zac Carper in a press release. “I noticed that everyone kept saying ‘you just gotta move on dude.’ And it just seemed like such a stupid response. I wish this song was about a romantic relationship but it is more about the friends that come and go in your life. Best friends turn into ‘used-to-be-friends’.”

In conjunction with the new single, FIDLAR also unveiled a 2024 tour with Oliver Tree. The tour is set to kick off on Jan. 12, 2024, in Chicago, with a series of North American shows before concluding with a hometown finale in Los Angeles. This tour follows FIDLAR’s upcoming fall 2023 live dates, a globetrotting string of concerts scheduled in both the United States and Europe for the remainder of the year.

Both “Move On” and the previously released single “Nudge” represent FIDLAR’s first original music since their recent stripped-down EP, unplug, and their comeback EP, That’s Life, earlier this year.
