The Toy Factory has added a new player to its May live itinerary. According to the newly forged Southern rock supergroup, which pays homage to the music of the Marshall Tucker Band and features original drummer Paul Riddle, while also honoring the late Toy Caldwell’s contributions, Sam Bush has joined the lineup. The member of New Grass Revival has committed to four concerts, all of which land on the band’s Spring Tour.
In an official post shared by Toy Factory, they labeled their update “big news” before offering, “The King of Newgrass has entered the chat.” At length, they explained, “We are THRILLED to announce that the legendary Sam Bush will be joining TFP for our May run! GRAMMY Award-Winning, Bluegrass Hall of Fame-inducted, and absolutely one of a kind – Sam brings an energy to the stage that has to be seen to be believed.”
Bush and Toy Factory will initially come together for two sold-out concerts slated for May 18-19, 2026, at the Greenfield Lake Amphitheater in Wilmington, N.C. The band and Bush will continue their pursuit of a lively performance on May 20, 2026, at Music at Maymont in Richmond, Va. The final date on the Toy Factory and Bush’s shared schedule will occur at DelFest in Cumberland, Md., on May 21.
In other Sam Bush news, after completing the May run, the bluegrass great and his self-titled group will join Yonder Mountain String Band with The Fretliners at Lincoln Hill Farms Bluegrass Festival in Canandaigua, N.Y. The show is slated for July 11, 2026. Learn more here.
