After an extended hiatus, New York City jammers God Street Wine have announced their return to the stage. The group shared that they will participate in two shows in early fall, the first of which will take place in their hometown at The Cutting Room on Sept. 30, with members of Ominous Seapods, Max Verna and Tom Pirozzi. Then, they’ll follow up with another performance scheduled for Oct. 1 at the famed Levon Helm’s Studio in Woodstock, N.Y.

God Street Wine rose onto the scene in the late-1980s, performing at iconic Big Apple spaces such as Nightingale’s on Second Avenue in Lower Manhattan, where they made their first public appearance, and famous haunts such as New York’s The Wetlands Preserve. In the years which mounted after their formation, the group turned out memorable live shows and recorded material until they disbanded in 1999.

Following their break up, the band joined forces from time to time for the sake of reunion shows and occasional tours, often agreeing to benefit appearances. Eventually, in 2013, they participated in a two-night stand at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl and later capped their summer at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y. They followed with a sprinkling of festival slots and eventually recorded and toured in support of their LP, This Fine Town
