Yesterday, Stephen Marley, singer, songwriter, producer and the second son of Bob Marley, announced the release of a new single titled “Old Soul.” In celebration of the release, Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong Radio (SiriusXM channel 19) aired the track all day, every hour on the hour, beginning at 12 a.m. ET on April 20, also in honor of Stephen’s birthday.

The acoustic track takes the listener on a coming-of-age journey, chronicling Marley’s childhood growth, innocence, and personal rites of passage through his family legacy. The single comes accompanied by a lyric video that showcases never-before-seen old family photos, vintage vinyl album covers, and a collage of Jamaican music history.

Marley also celebrated his 51st birthday with performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo., with his brother Ziggy on April 19 and 20. He was joined by Sean Paul and Protoje on an opening evening, while the 4/20 holiday featured opening sets by Steel Pulse and a special Lee “Scratch” Perry Memorial Set by the Subatomic Sound System and Mykal Rose.

“You have to be true to yourself,” Marley said about the message behind his music which carries a consistent ethos of love and unity, and intention to free people’s minds and souls. “I refuse to be put into any category. I am inspired by everything.”

Marley also shared that his Babylon By Bus Summer Tour will kick off in San Diego, CA in June, with multiple stops in California before heading to Colorado, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Chicago, Cape Cod, Brooklyn, N.Y. and before ending in Florida in August. The tour will include performances by Fortunate Youth, Skip Marley, Jesse Royal, Hirie, Arise Roots, and Roots of Creation.
