A sellout crowd was treated to a Broadway-quality spectacular Saturday night at Forest Hills Stadium when David Byrne brought the final show of his year-long tour supporting his most recent release, Who Is The Sky?, to a close.

Reminiscent of his Broadway play American Utopia, the show featured a dozen musicians and dancers in matching orange jumpsuits performing songs from the new release, as well as from his solo and Talking Heads catalogs. Opening with “Heaven” by Talking Heads, the setlist featured “Everybody Laughs,” “My Apartment Is My Friend,” and “I Met the Buddha at a Downtown Party” from the new album (it turns out he enjoys pastries and canapés just like the rest of us). A large screen provided backing visuals throughout the performance, including Byrne’s apartment, Earth as seen from the Moon, and a disturbing image of ICE raids during the ensemble’s performance of Talking Heads’ “Life During Wartime.”

The show concluded with a run of Talking Heads tracks, including “Air,” “Psycho Killer,” “Once in a Lifetime,” and, closing out the evening, “Burning Down the House.”
