Today, Gov’t Mule unveiled the dates for an impending summer amphitheater run, dubbed the Dark Side of the Mule Tour. The 12-stop outing, produced by Live Nation, will see the Warren Haynes’ fronted band celebrate the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s seminal 1973 LP, The Dark Side of the Moon, by tapping into just such material in front of a live audience.

On the road, the band will deliver the rare and renowned tunes, first shared by Pink Floyd. The choice of music beckons to Gov’t Mule’s past renderings of British rock covers, which began on Halloween 2008 when Haynes and company first debuted Dark Side of the Mule at Orpheum Theatre in Boston. The show was recorded and released in 2014 as a live album.

“This all started so organically with what we thought would be a one-time Halloween performance,” offered Haynes. “Since then, Dark Side of the Mule has grown into something else. It’s a blast to perform this material but our intent is to do it for one final tour in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Dark Side. Don’t miss it!”

The upcoming tour will include an opening set by very special guest Jason Bonham, who will dig into Led Zeppelin’s archive when the jaunt commences on Aug. 2 at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, Mich. After the first stop, the musicians will turn up in Noblesville, Ind., the following night, before their Aug. 4 appearance in Tinley Park, Ill.

The tour will continue with a one-night stand at the fabled Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo., on  Aug. 7. The rockers will arrive in Dallas on Aug. 9 before trucking over to Charlotte, N.C., a few days later. Then, Haynes and his band will then take a stand at Cadence Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park in Atlanta prior to an Aug. 15 gig in Bridgeport, Conn.

The final tour stops will occur on Aug. 17 at the Bank of New Haven Pavilion in Gilford, N.H., followed by an Aug. 18 concert in Boston and the group’s final Dark Side of the Mule performance, which will occur on Aug. 19 at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, N.J.

Citi card members will receive presale ticket access beginning tomorrow, March 7, at 10 a.m. local time. For complete presale details, visit .citientertainment.com or mule.net
