Sweetwater Music Hall has shared via their Instagram page that The Airplane Family & Friends shows scheduled for March 10 and 11 have been postponed to August 20 and 21 due to non-covid related illness.
The event celebrates the 50th anniversary of the legendary San Francisco rock band’s 1970 LP Blows Against the Empire. The occasion will see the album performed in its entirety for the first time. In addition, the ensemble will perform tunes off their greatest hits album, The Worst of Jefferson Airplane.
Peter Kaukonen (Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, Hot Tuna), will be joined by Slick Aguilar (David Crosby), Mike Falzarano (Hot Tuna, New Riders), Pete Lavazzoli (JGB, Oteil Burbridge), Mark Karan (RatDog, Phil Lesh and Friends) and Claire Maloney.
Special guests David Nelson & Dirty Business will also be in attendance, and David Gans, Host of Dead Radio Hour, will act as the MC, with songs and stories from the road.
Tickets for the newly scheduled dates are available and can be purchased here.
All original tickets purchased will be honored for the new show date.
