The Motet and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong have announced a joint funk-filled performance at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo., on May 27.

Percussionist Billy Martin (Medeski, Martin and Wood), vocalists Shrira Emias and Sammi Garett, The Horn Section (formerly of Turkuaz) will perform. Keyboard virtuoso Cory Henry will open the show with accompaniment from his band.

Ryan Jalbert, the guitarist for The Motet, commented, “I’ve had the honor to play Red Rocks at least 10 times now in various capacities and I still get choked up at some point throughout the day.” He continued, “it’s more so just being touched by the immense support of all of our fans that stick with us through thick and thin, ups and downs, lineup changes, global pandemics, whatever.”

The announcement comes during a heavy touring cycle for both bands, The Motet’s Keep on Don’t Stop Touring and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong’s Perspective 2022.

Additionally, on April 8, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong will release a brand new studio album titled Perspective. Listen to the disco single “Elephante” now
