Phish’s three-night run at Hollywood, CA’s Hollywood Bowl continued last night. The second show of the stand kicked off with a song-heavy first set that commenced with the first “Runaway Gin” of Phish’s brief West Coast tour and second of 2025. From there, the group moved on to “Blaze On” and “Martian Monster,” which segued into their first take on the 1998 Story of the Ghost standard “Birds of a Feather.” Phish then dusted off four songs for the first time in 2025, though all had been played last year: “555,” “Divided Sky” and an 18-plus minute take on “Ether Edge” that eventually surfaced as “The Squirming Coil.”

The Vermont Quartet’s second set, however, was a nearly seamless offering, featuring another chunk of 2025 debuts as well as a few live favorites that had already been performed this year. (The band only started repeating material on Friday night, six shows into their West Coast run.) Thins commenced with the first “AC/DC Bag” of the year–which was extended to over 13 minutes–and then moved seamlessly into “Life Saving Gun,” the first “The Howling” since this past October’s Divided Sky benefit, “Oblivion” and “Run Like an Antelope.” They paused briefly and then closed out the set with a beautiful “Beneath a Sea of Stars Part 1” that slid into a 16-minute “Everything’s Right.”

For their encore, Phish had three more songs ready. First, they played “Taste” in the encore spot for the first time since 2000. Then, they launched into “About to Run” for the first time in 2024, before closing things out with “Slave to the Traffic Light.”

Phish will end their West Coast tour at Hollywood Bowl this evening. They will also find out if they are going to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this evening when the winners are announced on American Idol.
