On Jan. 31, the CDC modified their travel advisory to a Level 4 Travel Health Notice for Mexico, which indicates a very high level of COVID-19 in the country. In response, CID Presents shared their updated COVID-19 policy, which applies to Phish‘s upcoming Phish: Riviera Maya 2022 event at the Moon Palace in Rivera Maya, Mexico on Feb. 24-27.

The statement clarified that while the updated advisory relates to the entire country of Mexico, the state of Quintana Roo (and more specifically, the Cancún region) has far fewer cases than the rest of the country and fewer cases than the United States. They went on to credit the success of their recent events to “stringent on-site guidelines, including a fully vaccinated staff, the use of masks in indoor spaces, and an expanded open-air venue footprint which allows for social distancing.”

The three requirements that now apply to Phish: Riviera Maya 2022 attendees are: Proof of a COVID-19 vaccination before departure; a negative COVID-19 PCR test no more than 96 hours prior to check-in; and antigen test for departure back to the USA no more than one day before the flight’s departure per CDC order.

Recent events throughout January and February in Quintana Roo that have gone one without a hitch include; Wilco’s Sky Blue Sky, Widespread Panic’s Panic en la Playa Diez, Avett Brothers at the Beach and Brandi Carlile’s Girls Just Wanna Weekend.

The statement went on to say that those that are not okay with the new requirements and no longer wish to attend will be able to request a refund package here, so long as they act before 10 a.m. EST on Feb. 7. Refunds requested after Feb. 7 will not be accepted.

They closed the message by writing, “We greatly appreciate you and your understanding. Our event and resort teams are hard at work preparing for your arrival, and we can’t wait for you to see our reimagined beachfront venue in a few short weeks.”

On January 31, 2022 the CDC modified its travel advisory pertaining to Mexico, which is now at a Level 4. Please note that this updated advisory relates to the entire country of Mexico, not just the state of Quintana Roo, where cases remain lower than the country as a whole and lower than they are currently in the USA. Quintana Roo (and more specifically, the Cancún region), continues to operate as it has throughout the month of January and February 2022. CID Presents & Moon Palace have assurances from all local governments that our remaining events may take place safely in the same manner as our most recent successful gatherings hosted in January: Crash My Playa and Hootiefest: The Big Splash. CID Presents credits this success to stringent on-site guidelines, including a fully vaccinated staff, the use of masks in indoor spaces, and an expanded open-air venue footprint which allows for social distancing. Other events in the area such as Wilco’s Sky Blue Sky, Widespread Panic’s Panic en la Playa Diez, Avett Brothers at the Beach and Brandi Carlile’s Girls Just Wanna Weekend have also had great events in Quintana Roo throughout the month of January and February and we plan to further this with our remaining shows. Please also keep in mind that for each of the upcoming CID Presents events, all event staff, as well as your fellow concert-goers, will be fully-vaccinated and will have PCR-tested prior to arrival. Additionally, all Moon Palace employees are fully vaccinated. CID Presents, Phish and Palace Resorts remain committed to producing experiences that are as safe as they are enjoyable. While we hope you keep your vacation intact, we understand some of you may want to alter your plans. Lead guests may take action on behalf of their entire group and request a package refund by clicking here and contacting CID Presents Guest Services before 10AM EST on February 7th. We will not be accepting requests after this deadline. Please understand that the brevity of this request period allows our teams to plan accordingly with the band and the resort so that we may deliver an incredible event and experience for the fans still planning on attending. We greatly appreciate you and your understanding. Our event and resort teams are hard at work preparing for your arrival, and we can’t wait for you to see our reimagined beachfront venue in a few short weeks.
