David Byrne’s American Utopia returned to the St. James Theatre on Broadway for its modified “Unchained” rendition. Byrne announced the string of six shows–which will continue through Jan. 2–after members of his company, crew and band got COVID-19 on Monday.

The stripped-down performances feature a mixture of original tracks from American Utopia‘s usual setlist, Byrne’s work with Brian Eno and beloved hits from the Talking Heads. All together Byrne and his skeleton crew layout 17 songs for the newly formatted show.

Notably, Byrne performed “The Revolution” for the first time since 2006 as he opened “Unchained” on Dec. 28. The show also featured his collaborations with Eno “My Big Nurse,” “Life Is Long,” and “Strange Overtones,” and reimaginings of Talking Heads hits “This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)” and “Slippery People.” The show closes with “Life During Wartime” and “Road to Nowhere.”
