Grahame Lesh has outlined his spring schedule. The latest dispatch will take the artist on the road for dual purposes: supporting his Midnight North project through a series of California concerts as well as appearances with his self-titled Grahame Lesh & Friends band on the East and West Coasts.
According to Lesh’s latest announcement, his impending live schedule will pick up with Midnight North’s initial stop at Harlow’s in Sacramento, Calif., on Thursday, April 2, followed by a tight Bay Area run and resulting appearances on April 4 at Presidio Theatre in San Francisco and the Felton Music Hall in Felton, Calif., on April 5.
Rather than proceed with Midnight North concerts, Lesh will pause the band’s schedule and pick up four East Coast dates with his self-titled project, featuring Damian Calcagne, Justin Mazer, Nathan Graham, Brian Rashap, and Elliott Peck, beginning on May 7 at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl location.
The aforementioned band will appear at Ardmore Music Hall for this previously announced participation in Unlimited Devotion on May 8. Afterwards, they will take their talents and regard for the Grateful Dead songbook to the Regent Theatre in Arlington, Mass. Ultimately, Grahame Lesh & Friends’ East Coast closeout will take place on May 10 at Fairfield Theatre’s One Stage in Fairfield, Conn.
Back on the West Coast, Lesh will pick up the second leg of his Midnight North tour on May 22 at The Wayfarer in Costa Mesa, Calif. They will take the stage at Winston’s in San Diego, Calif., the following night, before bringing their live series to a close after one final night at The Echo in Los Angeles.
Lesh paired the new live schedule with background on the upcoming concerts, “Expect Grateful Dead classics of course, but we also love highlighting my dad’s more forgotten Dead compositions, playing the PLQ music and my brother Brian’s songs, debuting music that my dad, brother, & I wrote together (much of which has still not seen the light of day…stay tuned…), and more.”
Before concluding his post, Lesh added, “All of this music coming up is so exciting! We’ll see you at a show – the live experience is how the music is going to keep growing and expanding for the next 300 years!”
Notably, the “300-year” reference was to the late Bobby Weir’s vision for the continued spread and esteem of the Grateful Dead songbook and experience. Let there be songs to fill the air…
