LCD Soundsystem have announced they’ll be holding a residency at the Brooklyn Steel. The string of 20 shows that will happen from Nov. 23 through Dec. 21 mark the group’s first performances in three years.

Earlier this year LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy said on Marc Maron’s WTF Podcast that the band was on “full hiatus” Murphy said, “Right now, we’re on a full hiatus. Because of the nature of the band, when we’re not touring, we’re just, like, back to normal life completely… Everyone does other stuff. Everyone has their own things going on. So for us to put [a new record] together, we just kind of have to decide to do it.”

In 2011 LCD Soundsystem played their legendary farewell concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden that was later turned into a record of its own. The band reunited five years later. Earlier this year they reissued that album for its 10 year anniversary.

In 2017 they released LCD Soundsystem’s latest studio offering American Dream, listen to it here.

Notably, LCD Soundsystem officially opened the venue and have played runs there numerous times.
