Phish closed out their annual run at Commerce City, CO’s Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Sunday, capping off a three-night stand that marked their eagerly awaited return to the soccer stadium after a year off. The Vermont Quartet treated fans to a seamless second set that kicked off with a 12-minute “My Friend, My Friend,” before moving into a 20-minute “Fuego,” an eight-minute “Melt the Guns,” a 16-minute “Light” and a 13-minute “Everything’s Right.”

Of note, it was the second time Phish covered XTC’s New Wave classic “Melt the Guns” this summer—they revived the tune just three shows earlier at Boston’s Fenway Park on July 31, the first time they had tried out the rhythmic number since April 29, 1987. With a 2,051-show gap between performances, it was the biggest bust out in Phish’s performance history though, having only waited a few shows to play the song again, “Melt the Guns” seems to have now returned to their rotation. During “Fuego,” Trey Anastasio also employed the mini-drum kit he used in 1995 and 1996 and brought back during the two final nights of Phish’s recent five-night Madison Square Garden residency, during which the band nodded to their ’90s era through a mix of gags, on-stage antics and unique setlists. Anastasio also utilized the mini-drum kit during Phish’s summer Fenway plays and at the group’s two other shows at Dick’s, making the case that the percussion set may remain on stage for a bit longer.

Notably, Phish’s 2026 Dick’s run featured several over pockets of deep improvisation. On Friday, they extended “Down with Disease” past the 35-minute mark and on Saturday, they stretched “Sand” past the 17-minute mark, “Sigma Oasis” past the 19-minute mark, “What’s Going Through Your Mind” past the 24-minute mark and “Tweezer” past the 23-minute mark.

Phish will kick off a short fall run at Atlantic City, NJ’s Boardwalk Hall on October 2.
