On Sept. 10 and 11, My Morning Jacket made their triumphant return to Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, NY, performing a slew of fan favorites as well as debuting few cuts from their impending, self-titled LP.

As some may recall MMJ’s last Forest Hills show was in 2019, as they closed a brief run of shows including stops at Red Rocks and The Capitol Theatre.

This time around, My Morning Jacket opened the run with “Wordless Chorus” and worked through several originals before debuting new tune “Love Love Love.”

However, it was their four-part encore that really stole the show, as MMJ performed “Touch Me I’m Going to Scream Pt. 1,” “Anytime,” “Phone Goes West” and “Mahgeetah,” with “Phone Goes West” containing teases of Sly and the Family Stone’s “Everyday People.”

The covers continued on the band’s second night, as they offered not one, but two Marvin Gaye tunes – namely “Mercy Mercy Me” and “What’s Going On.”

Directly before that, MMJ served up the run’s second debut with “In Color.”

The run ended with yet another stacked encore, with the My Morning Jacket single “Regularly Scheduled Programming” giving way to “Gideon,” “Touch Me I’m Going to Scream Pt. 2” (complete with teases of “The Bear”) and a reliably mind-blowing “One Big Holiday.”

My Morning Jacket will release My Morning Jacket on Oct. 22.
