Grateful Dead HQ have announced that the band’s May 3, 1972 show at the Olympia Theatre in Paris, France will be released on vinyl for the very first time, as part of Record Store Day.
The show occurred as part of the Dead’s legendary Europe ’72 tour. “Of the twenty-two performances on the famed Europe ’72 tour, the first night in Paris on 5/3/72 has always been considered one of the best. This is proven by the fact that four songs from this concert were included on the seventeen-track, seminal platinum-selling Europe ’72 album.”
The new vinyl release will be limited to 10,000 copies. The set will consist of six LPs on 180-gram vinyl, and it will hit stores starting on June 12.
