Vinyl lovers and Deadheads alike will rejoice today as “Alabama Getaway” has been selected as the Grateful Dead’s 7″ Singles Vol. 17.
“This Dead.net exclusive, limited-edition, colored vinyl is newly remastered by GRAMMY® Award winning sound engineer, David Glasser and features original artwork by Gary Houston,” reads an official description.
The single will include the studio version of “Alabama Getaway” as Side A and fellow Go To Heaven selection “Far From Me” as Side B.
The release will be limited to 10,000 copies.

February 26, 2021 at 4:21 pmI hear ya, Steve. The well is tapped, the barrel is dry. Limited edition vinyl release of the awful studio versions of their mediocre material? I can’t imagine anyone would buy this for any reason besides the collectible angle.
