Phish co-founder Jeff Holdsworth is featured on the first episode of Phish lyricist Tom Marshall’s new podcast, ‘Undermine.’ The new podcast “combines the former podcasts Under the Scales, Helping Friendly Podcast and Beyond the Pond into a new weekly show,” according to a description on Osiris’ website. The first season (and first episode) focus on Phish’s early years.

The former Phish guitarist sat for a rare interview, discussing Phish’s early years, the formation of the band and his departure after his graduation. He went on to discuss becoming a born-again Christian after leaving the band, sitting in with Phish for their 20th anniversary and much more.

According to the podcast’s description, “Season One focuses on “The Early Years,” Phish’s foundational period of the 1980s. This season will cover the band’s early influences and songwriting, as well as the developing fan culture, the biggest concerts played in that decade, early festival-like shows, and initial travels outside of Vermont to spread the music.”
