Dance On Philly has announced a city-wide virtual dance party. Viewers can watch the show that will feature dancers, DJs, and local TV personalities performing live from The Filmore, or join the dance party themselves via Zoom. This event will take place on Nov. 14 starting at 6 p.m. ET with all donations benefitting Musicopia and Dancing Classroom Philly.
“The 6 hour program is split into two sections; Family Dance Party Live & We The People and will culminate in Cosmo Baker’s “Philadelphia Freedom” which will celebrate the historic role our city played in creating AND returning to democracy while spinning an incredibly eclectic mix of Philly Only Music,” read a press release for the event.
The two sections will highlight both professional and youth dancers, and the dance party portion is set up to act as a “nightclub” where participants can donate to have a private Zoom room with friends or enter a larger room by themselves.
“It’s all about Philly, it’s all about community, and it’s all about love,” said host Lauren Hart in the event’s announcement video. “And of course it’s all virtual.”
