On a recent episode of his Fireside Sessions, Neil Young performed an version of “Lookin’ For A Leader”, with updated lyrics to reflect the current political moment. Today, he shared footage of the performance on YouTube.
The original version of the song appeared on Young’s 2006 album Living With War. According to a press release, “this timely 2020 update targets the problems we currently face.”
Young also recently announced that he has begun the process of removing social media log-ins from his Neil Young Archives website, now only allowing fans access with an email address. Read more on that here.

Though, anyone who could still actually consider Trump as anything but the worst president to have ever been elected (by far) must lose sight of a lot of things… Neil Young may have just become an American citizen but he’s already doing more than many to try to save his new homeland from complete destruction. But in all seriousness, It feels like all of Neil’s recent (last 10 to 15 years) non-musical efforts and statements feel very reactionary, unorganized, and a lot like misdirected anger. So the same guy who wanted to tout technology with proprietary speakers and customized digital music formats (for personal profit), now wants out of all social media for basically political reasons? Come on Neil, focus.

Disagreement will happen, it would just be nice to do it with some respect… and that goes for all of us… thanks whew…
