Today, April 25, the Marcus King Family Band announced the return of its Family Reunion format, a two-day festival slated to occur at the spacious, open-air CCNB Amphitheatre in Simpsonville, S.C., on August 24 and 25. The annual gathering will include a heap of talent, from the event host and his band to The Avett Brothers and more.

In addition to the aforementioned lineup participants, the 2024 assembly also boasts Band of Horses and Sierra Ferrell–on the tail of her stunning Trail of Flowers release. Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners are also featured, as well as Greenville, S.C. native Nikki Lane. As noted in the press release, artists were handpicked for the occasion by King, who also extended the invitation to Darby Wilcox, Kashus Culpepper, Ethan Regan, Barrett and Britti.

Providing context, King offered, “When I was growing up in South Carolina, once a year we’d pack the family car up and head up to my great grandparents home for some front porch pickin,’ covered dishes, lots of love and plenty of leftovers! This is where I learned about the joy music could bring and how it’s a powerful force that brings us together! Want to bring that same joy to you folks this year with the return of The annual Marcus King Band family reunion. We are back and bigger than ever!”

The previous edition of the Marcus King Family Reunion brought together Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit, Yonder Mountain String Band, Amanda Shires, Doom Flamingo, Andy Frasco & the U.N., Nigel Hall Band, and other favorites during its 2019 occurrence. Prior to that, in 2018, the second-ever gathering included The Revivalist, Billy Strings, Chuck Leavell & Friends and other memorable performances.

Extending charitable opportunities in partnership with the Family Reunion, $1 of every ticket sold will go toward Marcus King’s Charity, Curfew Foundation, which provides and assists those struggling with addiction or sobriety and helps fund music education. Learn more.
