Brooklyn Bowl has announced a benefit concert to be held for Bad Brains frontman Paul “HR” Hudson, with proceeds going to support the legendary musician in his continuous fight against SUNCT syndrome. HR (“Human Rights”), now 68 years old, has struggled against constant debilitating headaches since his 2014 diagnosis, preventing him from touring with his massively acclaimed band and requiring costly medical intervention. With this, the artist’s closest friends and collaborators have called on the community for support, which arrives next Sunday in the form of an all-star engagement.

Presented by producers Kentyah Fraser and Norwood Fisher, the concert will feature a staggering ensemble of members of Bad Brains, Fishbone and Living Colour, collectively termed Living Fish Brains. Beyond the supergroup, the event will host special soundsystem sets from Subatomic Sound System featuring Scratchy, as well as a set from essential NY turntablist and educator DJ Spooky; more surprise guests will be added soon. This marks the second benefit concert for HR, the first of which was held in December 2023 and welcomes such stars as Money Mark, Fred Armisen, and the first reunion of Sublime with Jakob Nowell.

100% of the proceeds from this performance will go directly to ongoing medical treatment for HR, who recently told Rolling Stone, “I don’t want anyone to give up on me.” Tickets for the concert are available now. Fans unable to attend the event in person can also support HR via his GoFundMe
