After turning the clock back to 1995, this week’s edition of Dinner and a Movie will return viewers to Phish’s 3.0 era will a full-show broadcast of their 2015 stop at The Mann in Philadelphia.
The Aug. 12, tease-laced outing included elements of the Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back” in “Ya Mar” as well as “Tequila” in Bathtub Gin.
This week’s Dinner and a Movie recipe comes in the form of a grilled chicken with salsa verde, courtesy of guitarist Trey Anastasio. “Summer’s here, and in my mind’s eye I imagine what it would be like to leave Rubber Jungle, go outside and grill,” Anastasio writes. “Wow! That would be the second most amazing thing I could imagine right now, second only to playing a summer Phish tour. Oh well, since we can’t do that, let’s grill!”
The band also points fans to this week’s charity beneficiary, The Southern Poverty Law Center, which is “dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society. Using litigation, education, and other forms of advocacy, the SPLC works toward the day when the ideals of equal justice and equal opportunity will be a reality.”
Tune in to Dinner and a Movie on Wednesday, June 24 via LivePhish.com.

The SPLC ended 2019 with over half a BILLION dollars in cash on hand, 98% of which is designated as “unrestricted” in use.
Online IRS reports indicate that the SPLC took in $117 million donor-dollars in 2019, $122 million in 2018 and $133 million in 2017.
In short, the SPLC doesn’t need the money at the moment. Your local food bank, women’s shelter or free medical clinic can do so much more with your donation.
Your local SPCA needs your gift far more than the six-digit-salary fundraisers of the SPLC.
Give locally, where the need is greatest and where you can see the results of your gift first hand.
