The Songwriters Hall of Fame has announced the 55th annual class of inductees. This year’s lineup includes nine venerable performers and non-performing songwriters, headlined by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of Kiss, Kenny Loggins and Taylor Swift, who will become the youngest woman ever inducted into the hall. The honorees will be enshrined at the 2026 Awards Gala, set to stage at New York’s Marriott Marquis Hotel on June 11.

Tthe other artists recognized for accumulating extensive and influential catalogs over at least 20 years include the generation-defining alt-rock titan Alanis Morissette, 2025 inductee Mariah Carey’s songwriting partner Walter Afanasieff, R&B and hip-hop hitmaker Christopher “Tricky” Stewart (who penned Rihanna’s “Umbrella,” Britney Spears’ “Me Against the Music” and Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul”) and the duo of Terry Britten and Graham Lyle, whose celebrated work with Tina Turner includes “What’s Love Got to Do with It.” “The music industry is built upon the incredible talent of songwriters who create unforgettable songs,” Songwriters Hall of Fame President Nile Rodgers expressed in a statement:

“Without their artistry, there would be no recorded music, concert experiences, or engaged fans. Everything originates from the song and its creator. We take great pride in our ongoing commitment to recognizing some of the most culturally significant composers in history. This year’s lineup not only showcases iconic songs but also celebrates unity across various genres. These songwriters have profoundly impacted the lives of billions of listeners worldwide, and it is our privilege to honor their contributions.”

The 2026 inductees will join the ranks of more than 400 songwriters added to the Songwriters Hall of Fame since its establishment in 1969, including Brian Wilson, Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Trey Anastasio, Elton John and Bernie Taupin, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Lionel Richie, Bill Withers, R.E.M., Steely Dan and more.
