Umphrey’s McGee has postponed Röckjavik, their Iceland destination event. The band was set to play three nights at Reykjavik, Iceland’s Eldborg Concert Hall on March 20-22. The band has also postponed their four upcoming California shows: Mar. 12 in San Diego, Mar. 13 in Los Angeles, Mar. 14 in Oakland and Mar. 15 in San Rafael.
“Due to the evolving situation surrounding the coronavirus, and in alignment with the best practices laid out by the CDC and WHO, it is with the utmost regret that we have to reschedule the upcoming Iceland Röckjavik shows,” the band wrote in a statement regarding Röckjavik. “We are currently working on new dates and plan to announce them as soon as possible.”
“The safety of our fans and the larger community we all share must be the priority,” the statement continued. “The last thing we wanted to do is inconvenience our fans by canceling this event.”
The band has stated that tickets will be honored at rescheduled dates, and that refunds will be available for those who can’t make them. Additionally, Umphrey’s is working with airlines to arrange travel credits for fans.
“As always, we thank you for your support,” the statement concluded. “This is a tough decision but we know it’s the right thing to do. Mad love, hope to see you soon . . . and try not to touch your face.”
