On Mar. 6, Umphrey’s McGee played their second of three nights at the intimate Belly Up Aspen in Aspen, Colo. The show was highlighted by a Metallica cover in the encore, one which Umphrey’s hadn’t played since 2017.
The first set began with “Red Tape,” followed by “Tribute to the Spinal Shaft” > “Uncle Wally.” After a standalone “Water,” the band closed the first set with a trio of “The Triple Wide” > “The Fuzz” > “Seasons.”
Set two began with another three-song sequence, this time “Preamble” > “Mantis” > “Ringo.” The band then played “Partyin’ Peeps,” followed by “Miami Virtue” and “Kimble.” Umphrey’s then moved into “Hajimemashite,” before transitioning to a return to “Mantis” to close the set.
The encore began with “Orfeo.” The band then performed Metallica’s “…And Justice For All” for the first time since Mar. 11, 2017, a gap of 273 shows.
The band returns to Belly Up Aspen for their final show of the run on Mar. 7. Check out the complete Mar. 6 setlist below as it appears in our Box Scores section.
