New York City’s Daptone Records – known by many as the home of the late Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings – has announced a new imprint, dubbed Penrose Records.
The new West Coast wing was founded by The Dap-Kings’ Bosco Mann, who intends to showcase upcoming talent from Southern California and beyond.
According to a press release, “For its inaugural release, the label offers up five singles by five artists: Thee Sacred Souls from San Diego; Jason Joshua from Miami; East L.A. mainstays Thee Sinseers, and The Altons; and Altadena veterans, Los Yesterdays.”
On Tuesday, March 3, all five tracks will be released as an EP, Presenting Penrose Records.
