On Saturday, Primus began their month-long run as one of three support acts for Slayer’s farewell tour at the ExploreAsheville.com Arena in Asheville, N.C. The 11-song set was filled with Primus classics, including “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver” and “My Name is Mud,” but it was highlighted by a bust-out cover of Rush’s “Cygnus X-1.”

Primus has frequently teased the song, from Rush’s 1977 album A Farewell to Kings, in the past, including as recently as July 2018.

However, the Nov. 2 performance marked the most complete rendition of the song in the band’s history (per Toasterland.com). After busting out the tune on Saturday night, they played it again on Sunday in Raleigh, N.C.

Primus’ tour supporting Slayer continues on Nov. 5 in Salem, Va. at the Salem Civic Center.
