Last November, news leaked that guitarist Mickey Melchiondo—a.k.a. Dean Ween—would be opening a marijuana-friendly event space in Denver called the Honey Pot Lounge, and today the venue announced that it will officially open this April.

Dean Ween’s Honey Pot Lounge will be housed on Denver’s “Green Mile,” taking over the space that has previously housed Vape & Play, a lounge already legally licensed for recreational marijuana use (the new venue’s official name is Dean Ween’s Honey Pot Lounge @ V&P). Honey Pot will be open seven days a week and offer live music, movie screening, comedy and more, along with a place for people to gather and enjoy marijuana products, although such products (and alcohol) will not be for sale in the space.

Deaner himself will be helping to curate the music and “overall vibe” of the place and will make special appearances at the club.

“Having travelled (and basically resided) in clubs, bars, and lounges for the past 30 years, I’ve always wanted to start my own club—a place that specifically caters to my personal tastes and a public hangout space designed in my model,” Melchiondo says in a press release. “The HPL will be a geographic extension of my living room, my studio, and my man-cave. Being a man of impeccable tastes, I feel positive that it will serve your entertainment needs as well and make for a great hang. My mission statement and overall goal for the HPL is to re-create my personal happy place—rooms where there is something compelling available to touch, smell, stare at, or listen to at all times.”

Honey Pot Lounge will open on April 5 with a members-only gathering followed by a public opening the next day. More information on the lounge, how to become a member and more can be found at the Honey Pot’s website.
