Mickey Melchiondo, better known as Dean Ween, is planning to open a new venue in Colorado called Dean Ween’s Honeypot Lounge, which would welcome and promote use of recreational marijuana—legal in the state—within the building, along with hosting educational and wellness events during the day.

As The Denver Post reports, COO of the proposed venue Michael Polansky says that it will be situated near Coors Field in Denver and that Melchiondo will serve as “entertainment director” and will perform “in various incarnations.”

Once the news got out, Melchiondo himself posted on a Ween fan page on Facebook, writing, “Well, we weren’t going to announce this just quite yet but now that the toothpaste is out of the tube, you can’t get it back in. I’m going to be opening a cannabis friendly music venue in Denver in the spring of 2019, Dean Ween’s Honeypot Lounge, and I will be in complete control of the entertainment schedule, which has always been a dream of mine—I’m thinking SundayJazz, Looney Tunes Nights, and A LOT OF THE BEST MUSIC YOU’RE EVER GOING TO HEAR, ANYWHERE, EVER. It’s one of the most exciting new chapters I’ve ever had in my life and I’m over the moon……stay tuned for specifics.”

Polansky adds that the Dean Ween Honeypot Lounge (preliminary website here) hopes to be open by April 20, 2019.
