On Wednesday night, Little Feat brought their 50th anniversary celebration tour to the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium in Asheville, NC, and the band once again welcomed special guest Warren Haynes, who had also joined the group for their performance at New York’s Beacon Theatre this past weekend.
Little Feat—which for this tour comprises keyboardist Bill Payne, guitarist Paul Barrere, multi-instrumentalist Fred Tackett, percussionist Sam Clayton, bassist Kenny Gradney and drummer Gabe Ford (the Midnight Ramble horns also played with the group throughout the show)—opened their night in Asheville with the Feat classic “Time Loves a Hero” and fit in staples like “Willin'” and covers of “Long Black Veil,” “The Weight” and “Everything I Do Gonh Be Funky” before welcoming out Haynes, who is back in his hometown for a pair of shows with the Asheville Symphony this weekend. The Gov’t Mule guitarist came out for fan-favorite “Spanish Moon” then stuck around for “Skin It Back” and the set-closing “Dixie Chicken.”
