The former PTF lineup: Eric Gould, Zack Burwick, Richard James, Dave Brunyak (l-r)

Pink Floyd/Talking Heads/Phish tribute act Pink Talking Fish have announced a shift in their touring lineup, with guitarist Dave Brunyak moving on to pursue other projects.

“We are thankful for Dave’s friendship and his contribution to the band,” read a March 8 statement by the band. “We wish him well in his new project DB and any other new ventures on his horizon.”

Brunyak was originally recruited into the band (along with drummer Zack Burwick) when founder/former Particle bassist Eric Gould saw them perform with New England Phish tribute band The Phreaks.

“Somebody mentioned Eric from Particle was in the room and I thought that was great,” Brunyak told Relix in 2018. “I was running around during setbreak, meeting folks and taking care of some business. He pulled me aside and said, ‘Hey, Dave, I’m Eric from Particle,’ and I was like, ‘I gotta go play. See ya later.’ [Laughs.] So the first meeting was nothing special, but he had made his decision that he wanted to offer me the job.”

Pink Talking Fish have been a regulars in the jam scene for some time, and even recently staged a circus-themed tribute to Phish’s Junta at The Capitol Theatre.

In Brunyak’s place, the band will welcome Cal Kehoe, who has previously worked as a solo artist as well as a member of Tom Marshall’s Amfibian All-Stars.
