The 11th annual Adirondack Independence Music Festival is currently underway in Lake George, NY. Dogs in a Pile, The Floozies, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and Pink Talking Fish will yet take the stage today at Charles R. Wood Park.

On Friday, three of the artists on the bill collaborated during the festival’s final performance. moe. closed out the action but was preceded by longtime friends Assembly of Dust, along with more recent collaborators Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country. At the end of moe.’s first set, the group welcomed Assembly of Dust bandleader Reid Genauer along with Donato for a sizzling version of the Grateful Dead staple “Deal.” Genauer, Donato and moe.’s Al Schnier shared vocals, then later, Donato and Schnier squared up and went toe-to-toe on their electrics.

moe. returned on Saturday and also invited a guest musician to the stage. First off, the group performed their 1996 album No Doy from start to finish. The group’s initial set featured “She Sends Me,” “32 Things,” “St. Augustine,” “Bring You Down,” “Rebubula,” “Spine of a Dog” and “Moth.” Then the band performed the final two songs, “Buster” and “Four” during the second frame. From here, guitarist Rob Compa (Dopapod) appeared for an expansive version of “Meat,” which preceded a set-closing version of Jethro Tull’s “Locomotive Breath.”

moe. is off until a West Coast tour that opens on October 15.
