On Saturday evening, The Troubadour in Los Angeles hosted a pre-Grammys tribute to legendary singer-songwriter John Prine, with contributions from Bob Weir, Margo Price, members of the Punch Brothers, Milk Carton Kids, Bettye LaVette, Boz Scaggs and John Paul White, including Weir and Price teaming up for two Prine tunes.

As JamBase reports, Weir and Price took the stage together for “Great Rain,” with Weir leading the band on vocals, and “Angel From Montgomery,” featuring Price on lead. The two also collaborated this past fall at Weir’s Wolf Bros show in Nashville.

Saturday night’s Prine tribute closed out with a special appearance from the man himself, who offered a pair of takes on his own tunes, “Late John Garfield Blues” and “Summer’s End.”
