Neil Young spent almost all of 2017 off the road, taking the stage only three times: a guest appearance at Stagecoach with pal Willie Neslon, a set with Promise of the Real at Farm Aid and a solo show in his hometown of Ontario. He’s returned to more active duty this year, touring with both his garage-rock act Crazy Horse and Promise of the Real, as well as playing occasional solo theater dates.
It looks like Young will continue to mix up his performances in 2019: After confirming a few European summer dates with Promise of the Real, the guitarist has announced a string of winter solo shows and Crazy Horse appearances. As of press time, his solo run is slated to kick off on January 23 at Milwaukee, WI’s Riverside Theater and wrap up at Minneapolis, MN’s Northrop Auditorium on January 31. Of note, Young will play four different Minneapolis theaters during a six-day stretch, marking his first appearances in the Flour City since 2010. He will then cross the boarder for two Crazy Horse shows in two different theaters in Winnipeg on February 3 and 4. Neil Young Archives subscribers have first access to tickets.
Young and Promise of the Real have confirmed July stops in London and Kilkenny, including a big show with Bob Dylan at Hyde Park on July 12. His team forced the event’s promoters to pull a Barclays sponsorship for the UK date, calling the company a “fossil fuel funding entity.”
Here’s a look at Neil Young’s upcoming dates
January 23 Milwaukee, WI–Riverside Theater (solo)
January 24 Madison, WI–Overture Center for the Arts (solo)
January 26 Minneapolis, MN–Pantages Theatre (solo)
January 28 Minneapolis, MN–Orpheum Theatre (solo)

December 24, 2018 at 11:40 amOne of the best shows I have ever seen was Neil solo in Seattle at the Paramount theater in the late 90’s (maybe 1998?). Sure that is not news to anyone.
Those dates are certainly interesting. 4 shows in the same city, but in different venues? two of them on the same day?

December 23, 2018 at 10:39 pmIs it Poncho or Nils with the Horse? Nothing against Nils, but want to see Poncho in the mix. Best case scenario would be both.

December 23, 2018 at 8:09 pmGreat he is playing with Crazy Horse. Now is it possible that he can play with them in a major market that one can get a direct flight to.

December 23, 2018 at 8:31 pmAdam, where are you coming from? If eastern US, fly into Toronto and get a flight to Winnipeg easily enough from there. If from the western US fly to Vancouver or Calgary and do the same. Every US dollar is $1.35 and going up Canadian, so it makes it much more affordable for Americans to visit. Plus legal weed now…

Perhaps he takes a horse to shows…

December 23, 2018 at 6:16 pmOh, I think his funding for handicapped children, farm aid and other charity work makes up for it. Probably a hundred times more than the average rock-and-roller. Not to mention all the money he spends on biofuel powered car research. at least he’s not hauling his fat ass down to Florida every couple weeks to play golf… By the way does anybody know weather his ranch got burned down and whether any of his archived material went up in flames too? And does he have any shows scheduled in the Ohio area this year?

December 23, 2018 at 8:29 pmSideshow Bob – Neil has never had a private plane and almost always travels by bus/car on his tours.
Dave – the ranch is now Pegi’s post divorce, but have not heard of any issues with the fire. Neil and Daryl’s Malibu home burned down in the fires.
