In March, New York’s (Le) Poisson Rouge and guitarist Joel Harrison will host the 2019 Alternative Guitar Summit, which will celebrate the music of 1969’s legendary Woodstock festival 50 years later with six guitarists—and one sarode player—leading seven separate tributes to various artists that played the original Upstate New York gathering.

Harrison himself will be joined by the Everett Bradley Choir to present the music of Richie Havens and the Grateful Dead. Also included in the night’s lineup are Wilco guitarist Nels Cline, who will play the music of Santana, and Joe Russo’s Almost Dead/WOLF! guitarist Scott Metzger, who will lead a group of Friends in a set of covers of The Who. Brandon Seabrook Trio will take on Ten Years After; Ben Monder and Jo Lawry will offer songs from The Band and John Sebastian; Anupam Shobhakar and Selvaganesh (on sarode and kanjira, respectively) will explore the music of Ravi Shankar; and Vernon Reid will play a mixture of Jimi Hendrix and Sly Stone.

Alternative Guitar Summit 2019: The Music of Woodstock 50 Years After is set for (Le) Poisson Rouge on March 21. Tickets and more information can be found here.
