On Saturday, The Barr Brothers wrapped up their 2018 touring schedule with an intimate performance at Levon Helm’s Studios in Woodstock, NY, and the group ended up welcoming longtime collaborator and Woodstock resident Marco Benevento for a few songs during the set.

Around halfway through the show, frontman Brad Barr introduced Benevento as “one of our oldest and dearest friends” before the keyboardist came up to join the Brothers for extended runs of “Come in the Water,” “Deacon’s Son” and “Half Crazy.” Benevento, who used to played with Brad and Andrew Barr in Surprise Me Mr. Davis and has collaborated with the brothers in other groups throughout the years, later returned for a rare performance of “Before You Were Born,” a tune often played by Mr. Davis and The Slip, and “Maybe Someday.” Saturday’s show also featured a cover of Neil Young’s “Harvest” with members of opening act Weather Station.

The Barr Brothers recently announced a run of full-album performances in Canada, where they will offer sets of each of their three studio albums in Toronto and their hometown of Montreal.
