Trey Anastasio continued his acoustic tour in Santa Barbara, Calif. last night, echoing his tour opener by debuting yet another tune from Phish’s Kasvot Växt Halloween set.

After opening with “Cavern,” Anastasio offered the tour debut of “Sleep,” a tune the proper Phish quartet has not played since 2011.

Later, following solo staple “Back on the Train,” Anastasio dove into “We Are Come To Outlive Our Brains.” The midset Kasvot Växt tune was one many fan favorites from this Halloween, offering the standout, albeit perplexing, lyric “I’m the glue in your magnet.”

From there, Anastasio’s single set moved throughout “Steam,” “Light,” “Joy” and “Dog Faced Boy,” which fans haven’t heard from Phish since the fall of 2016. Another highlight was the instrumental “Till We Meet Again,” a tune Anastasio recently wrote for his friend Chris Cottrell, who passed in early 2018.

The most significant jam of the evening came on the tail end of the set, as Anastasio sandwiched “Harry Hood” within a meandering “Chalk Dust Torture” segment.

The guitarist encored with the second-ever acoustic “Turtle in the Clouds” and an always-welcome version of “The Lizards.”

Trey Anastasio’s solo acoustic tour will continue on Dec. 7 with a sold-out gig at LA’s Walt Disney Concert Hall.
