For their first of two sold-out nights in Philadelphia, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong welcomed vocalist Hayley Jane to the stage on Friday night for a cover of  The Cardigans’ “Lovefool.”

After opening with their own Pizazz cut “Too Long,” the band worked their way through a jammy “Somethin’ For Ya”> “Time to Ride”> “Kiwi”> “Time to Ride” segment in the first half. Later, PPPP offered their own “Overrun” and a crowd-pleasing “Melting Lights”> “Havana”> “Ghostbusters” jam, before closing set one with “Doc.”

Set two kicked off with “Porcupine” and “Burning Up My Time,” before the Baltimore-based quartet jumped into a lengthy “Condenser”> “Su Casa”> “Condenser”> “Drunk People”> “The Hop”> “F.U.”> “Drunk People” that segued into the aforementioned cover with Hayley Jane.(The last time PPPP played “Lovefool” was September 2016.)

From there, the band closed set two by finishing out “Drunk People”> “Penguins”> “Funkijam” and offering a stand-alone “Upfunk.”

PPPP closed their sold-out show with “Avalanche.”
